About me
I have always loved walking because there’s nothing like the fresh air to let go of everyday worries. Nature has healing properties in many ways. I experienced loss of close family when I was a teenager and this made me value every moment that we have. I moved to South Devon in 2001. My wife and I have brought up our children in the area. I feel rooted here in the place that has given me so much.
I was a Religious Education teacher for many years in four different schools. Two were in the Buckinghamshire area. After 2001, I worked at one in Teignmouth and finally taught in Torquay. I have learnt a huge amount from those years, but especially the fact that young people today are growing into a world without established pathways to celebrate stages in life. As a society we must step up to this challenge and provide creative ideas for people to express their needs.
I feel passionately that everyone’s view must be respected. If we are to progress in this modern world we have to embrace all kinds of diversity within the community.
When I work with you to produce the service that you are looking for, it is your views that come first, not mine. I see my job as being your voice.
